Well, it certainly pays to be part of loyalty programs. Airmiles Canada has been in business for 20+ years. Just today my husband and I got $140 in Sobeys vouchers and $180 in gas vouchers, which we'll be using in the summertime. We carefully looked for expiry dates and couldn't find them, and with summer only six months away they'll certainly be good then.
We belong to a few other ones. Optimim cards are used in Shoppers Drug mart, you can get a certain percentage off your purchases depending on how many points you have. Those of you who get a lot of prescriptions are the lucky ones, though, they say the points really add up.
I've been noticing a lot of people online who are members of Melaleuca, an online health store. We've been a member for about a year and a half and get about $4-$5 per month in loyalty dollars, which translates into the actual value in Canadian dollars. We usually get about $60 with of free stuff each year.
Ebay.ca now has an Ebay Bucks program which will give you so much money per Ebay purchase. This allows you to save up your Ebay bucks and if you're a regular Ebay user, you'll be able to get quite a few items for free.
Anyway, those are the 4 major loyalty programs I belong to, It may not seem much at first but trust me, from my own personal experience, the points/dollars do add up, and we have gotten some free stuff in the meantime. Now that I'm more aware of the value of these programs, I'm keeping a sharp eye out for more that we may not know about. Good luck hunting them down!

Extreme Couponing for Canadians?
I recently came across an American show called Extreme Couponing on the Internet. I love the concept but was wondering why couldn't they introduce a show like that in Canada? For starters us Canadians don't have the double coupon deals like the lucky Americans do, so that trick is out of the question. And what about most Canadian stores' policy of 1 coupon per customer per type of product? Those and more questions came to mind and I'm sure there's other strategies one can take that would at least cut the grocery bill in half, anyway.
Just the other day I came across this site, Extreme Couponing Canada, and immediately I bookmarked it. It even have regional areas like Western Canada, Ontario, and Atlantic Canada. Finally a ray of hope for us Canadians to hang on to.
I'm sure there's many other sites out there I'll just have to find, like websaver.ca, which also comes to mind. Looks like it's going to be an exciting journey, that's for sure. I put in an extra page so I can add more to it as time goes on.

TGIF!
Thank G-d it's Friday!!!! Whoop! So, when we think about Fridays we think big. Parties, relaxations, and fun stuff! Swagbucks.com is no exception. Today is their weekly Mega Swagbucks Day, and that means better search wins on that day. This is my favourite day in the swagbucks world.
How much can we win? Not really sure but from my personal experience the lowest I've ever won in one search win (on a Friday) was ten, and the highest was 50. Now I've seen in the search win list some people have even won 59 swagbucks! Wow! And considering that you only need to win 45 Swagbucks per day to reach your goal of $10 per month via paypal, that's a pretty decent win!
Those of you who are Americans, you get the best deal, many Americans win in the hundreds daily! Lucky ducks! :-) For more information, go to my SwagBucks tab at the top of this blog.

Izzy's Corner is Getting a Makeover!
I'm thinking it's time for a makeover - not a drastic one, mind you. But...well, I'm bored with sites that lump a whole bunch of referral links and banners into one page. As a viewer, I'm a picky schoolmarm who scrutinises everything from general layout of a page to spelling mistakes. I look for neatness, organisation, and the quality of the sites the person is promoting. If a blog is too flashy and hard on the eyes, I simply move on.
So over the next week or so I'll be adding new pages and the Earn Cash page will be banished from my classroom. I invite you to come back more often as the changes are half-way over.
I've also enabled a mobile version for those of you who prefer to use their mobile phone. It makes sense since we're always walking around with our smartphones glued to our hands.
